Hoyt Berry Municipal Park

This beautiful park spans over 3 acres and features a wide range of amenities, including playgrounds, picnic areas, walking trails, sports fields, gazebo, and an outdoor stage. The park is named after Hoyt Berry, a former mayor of Charleston who was instrumental in the park's development. Whether you're looking to relax with a picnic, play a game of soccer or baseball, or take a stroll through nature, Hoyt Berry Municipal Park is the perfect place to spend a day with family and friends.

Pavilion Reservations: $10 per hour
Park: $300/day
Park reservations include full use of the park stage, associated field, and pavilion.
Payments may be made in person with cash or check (made out to The City of Charleston) at City Hall during business hours, or online here. Reservations are first come, first served and no reservation is completed until payment is made.

Charleston River Access

Located on the Hiwassee River, this public boat launch provides easy access to some of the best waterways in the region. Whether you're looking to fish, water ski, or simply cruise along the river, the boat launch is the perfect starting point for your adventure. The launch features ample parking, picnic tables, and a floating pier for fishing and easy loading and unloading of your boat. With its scenic beauty and endless opportunities for water-based recreation, the Charleston boat launch is a favorite destination for locals and visitors alike.

Frequent visitor? Yearly passes are available for purchase at City Hall during business hours (or purchase online) for $35 per year.

Hiwassee River Heritage Center

The Hiwassee River Heritage Center is a fascinating museum that showcases the rich history and culture of Charleston and the surrounding region. The Cypress Tree Swamp

Located just outside downtown Charleston, this unique ecosystem owned by the Tennessee Valley Authority is home to towering cypress trees and a wide variety of aquatic wildlife. Be sure to check out the viewing walkway for a closer look!
